Chinese carriers expand slot-swap deals

 

 

Cosco Container Lines (Coscon), part of Cosco Group, announced it and compatriot China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) will expand the scope of their slot swap agreement on the Asia-Europe and Asia-Mediterranean trades in 2012.

Through this cooperation, Coscon and CSCL will increase port coverage and service frequency, and provide enhanced transit time for some major calling ports, Coscon announced last week, according to ADP News.

As part of the partnership, Coscon will add three loops to the range of its lines to Europe, with the following ports of call:

AEX1: Shanghai - Ningbo - Yantian - Felixstowe - Hamburg - Rotterdam - Hong Kong - Shanghai.

AEX7: Shanghai - Ningbo - Shekou - Hong Kong - Yantian - Port Kelang - Le Havre - Rotterdam - Hamburg - Zeebrugge - Port Kelang - Shanghai.

ABX: Shanghai - Ningbo - Shekou - Singapore - Port Kelang - Damietta - Kumport - Constantza - Ilyichevsk - Damietta -Shanghai.

CSCL will also offer three new services, namely the NE3, MD1 and MD2.

The NE3 will call at Tianjin, Dalian, Qingdao, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Hamburg, Antwerp, Nansha, Hong Kong, Tianjin.

The MD1 will have the following rotation: Shanghai - Ningbo - Hong Kong - Shekou - Singapore - Piraeus - Napoli - Genoa - Barcelona - Valencia - Piraeus - Singapore - Hong Kong - Shanghai.

The MD2 will follow the route Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, Ashdod, Genoa, Livorno, Fos, Port Said, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai.
