China Southern Airlines, one of the country's three biggest air carriers, said its 51 percent-owned unit Xiamen Airlines has agreed to buy 40 B737 jets from Boeing Co to boost capacity and modernise its fleet, reported Dow Jones Newswires.
Xiamen stated it will purchase the 40 jets at a combined list price of US$3.36 billion. The aircraft will be delivered in stages between 2016 and 2019, and Xiamen Airlines will use bank loans and operating funds to finance the deal, it said.
