Emirates Airline added 32 A380 aircraft to its orders for the “superjumbo” Airbus plane, giving new momentum to the carrier’s rapid expansion in capacity out of its Dubai hub.

With 10 of the double-decker passenger planes already delivered and 48 more already on order, Emirates will have 90 of the aircraft in a long-haul fleet that includes seven freighters.

Emirates announced the new firm orders, which are worth a total of $11.5 billion at list prices, at the Berlin Air Show, where the carrier said the investment is part of a broad effort to take a greater share of the world’s improving aviation market.

Emirates also took its 10th A380 passenger plane on Tuesday and said it will add A380s to new service this year out of Beijing and New York.
