The liner carrier Evergreen Line said it plans to assess a peak season surcharge on the headhaul Asia-Europe and Indian Subcontinent-Europe trades from June 1.
The surcharge is $300 per 20-foot container and $600 per 40-foot or 40-foot high-cube container.
Evergreen’s move follows a handful of other lines that have announced similar surcharges in recent weeks.
