Indian Railways' Traffic Increases 4.5 Percent

 

 

Indian Railways reported freight traffic from April to December 2012 was 735.1 million metric tons, increasing 4.5 percent from 703.8 million metric tons during the same period in 2011.

In December 2012, the state-owned railway handled 88.2 million metric tons, rising 1.6 percent from 86.8 million metric tons in December 2011.
