LA box volumes continue slide in May
The Port of Los Angeles saw container volumes drop 12.9 percent in May, continuing the trend at the nation’s busiest container port this year. Volume fell to 636,851 TEUs during the month, including a 12 percent drop in loaded import cargo (to 326,114 TEUs), and a 16.3 percent drop in loaded export cargo (to 154,904 TEUs).
For the year, total volume has dropped 7.5 percent to less than 3.1 million TEUs.
