Cosco to Hike Asia-US Rates in May

 

 

Cosco will increase rates for dry cargo on its trade from the Far East and the Indian subcontinent to the U.S., starting May 1:

  • For all cargo moving via U.S. West Coast ports and for intermodal cargo via these ports destined for California, Oregon and Washington, the hike will be $640 per 20-foot container, $800 per 40-foot container, $900 per 40-foot high-cube container and $1,013 per 45-foot container.
  • For all intermodal cargo and mini-land bridge intermodal cargo via U.S. West Coast ports and Canadian ports destined to points other than those in California, Oregon and Washington, the increase will be $960 per 20-foot container, $1,200 per 40-foot container, $1,350 per 40-foot high-cube container and $1,520 per 45-foot container.
  • For all cargo moving via U.S. East Coast and GulfCoast ports and for all intermodal cargo via these ports, the hike will be $800 per 20-foot container, $1,000 per 40-foot container, $1,125 per 40-foot high-cube container and $1,266 per 45-foot container.

Separately, the container line said it will also revise its fuel adjustment factor in its trade from the Far East to the Red Sea, Persian Gulf and Indian subcontinent.
