The liner carrier Hapag-Lloyd said it plans to raise eastbound transpacific rates by $400 per 40-foot container to the U.S. West Coast and $600 per FEU to the East Coast starting Sept. 1.
The announcement comes a week after competitor Maersk Line announced rate increases for the same date at the same level. Hapag-Lloyd’s increases in full are:
