Finnair Cargo will add more air freight capacity to and from Brussels, starting June 6. In addition to the MD-11 freighter service between Helsinki and Brussels on Saturdays and Sundays, Finnair’s passenger flight to and from Brussels on Thursday mornings will now be flown with an Airbus A340 aircraft. “This enables us to offer fast transport between Central Europe and Asia also for large shipments,” said Mikko Turtiainen, Finnair Cargo's vice president of global sales and marketing, in a written statement. Furthermore, with the addition of new Japan Airlines planned operations to and from Helsinki as of July 1, Finnair Cargo will offer twice-daily flights on its Tokyo Narita route, as well as the daily Nagoya and Osaka flights during summer 2013. “With new cooperation, we have up to twice daily flights between Helsinki and Tokyo Narita, which means that in summer 2013, Finnair Cargo can now offer 56 weekly flights connecting Tokyo Narita, Osaka Kansai and Nagoya with our Helsinki hub,” said Juha Järvinen, Finnair Cargo’s managing director, in a written statement.
