Air China's May cargo volume grows 4.5pc to 124,500 tonnes in May
AIR CHINA's latest figures show that the carrier recorded an air freight volume of 124,500 tonnes in May, 4.5 per cent more than in the same month in 2012.
Newly deployed cargo capacity increased 7.2 per cent this month. Turnover also went up 8.6 per cent. Load factor was at 60.5 per cent, up 0.8 percentage point year-on-year.
On May 7, the carrier started a new four-time-weekly service from Beijing to Geneva. Later on May 19, another new service, which was a thrice-weekly flight from Chengdu toFrankfurt, was inaugurated.
This month, Air China purchased 299,000 tonnes of air fuel at an average price of CNY6,818 (US$1,111.55) per tonne, down 12 per cent year-on-year. Asian Shipper News |
