DHL launches new direct US – Asia LCL services

DHL has launched new direct LCL services from Seattle to Singapore, which serves as a gateway to sixteen destinations in South Asia.

Operated by DHL Global Forwarding's in-house carrier, Danmar Lines, the new direct weekly LCL service will cover freight moving from Portland and Seattle, and will reduce the overall transit time between the US and Singapore by twelve to fourteen days.

The new direct weekly LCL service offers greater flexibility and eliminates the re-handling of cargo in Los Angeles by moving directly from the Port of Seattle. Cargo shipped directly from Seattle to Singapore will arrive within 25 days.

Since the US - Singapore Free Trade Agreement was signed six years ago, exports of US goods have increased by nearly 34%, making Singapore the US's tenth largest export market.

DHL's new Seattle - Singapore LCL service will cover sixteen destinations in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

DHL currently operates the world's largest LCL network with close to 2,000,000 m3 of LCL freight handled every year via 45,000 point-pairs.
