Seaspan adds 59th ship

Seaspan Corp. said it has accepted delivery of the COSCO Vietnam, an 8,500-TEU containership, from Hyundai Heavy Industries.

The new containership is Seaspan's fourth delivery in 2011 and expands the company's operating fleet to 59 vessels.

The COSCO Vietnam is on charter to COSCO Container Lines 12-year, fixed-rate time charter with options to extend the charter term up to three additional years. It is the last of eight 8,500-TEU sister ships.

Seaspan has an additional 10 ships on order for delivery through next March.
